Closed out the 2021 Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival
Jazz-funk fusion outfit, Red Revel are back out of the studio armed with an infectious new groove, 'Cafe Revel Disco'. The group has blended a variety of funk, disco and jazz to create a captivating new sound.
Upon recently signing with American indie label, Fogwood Records, '808 Airfreight' was their debut release with the label.
Known for their energetic performances, Red Revel's arsenal of infectious riffs and catchy hooks have been transporting audiences back in time to the golden era of 70's funk.

Red Revel is an explosion of jazz-funk anthems, who's captivating energetic performances have been transporting audiences back in time to the golden age of 70's funk rock.
Well established within the local scene, the Sydney based group has graced the stage at several of Sydney's iconic venues including, The Factory Theatre, The Vanguard and Frankie's Pizza.
The groups musical style is a blend of genres primarily consisting of funk and jazz, creating infectious grooves to fashion an ultimate rhythmic experience. Their current single 'Funky Lemon' captures the band's sound as a blend of funk and roots with a twist of rock n roll.
Gathering momentum from a run of sold-out shows, the group has booked some studio time in mid-February, in anticipation of its next single debuting on Fogwood Records due to be released in Summer of 2021. For the next show of the 2021 calendar expect a big single launch in their hometown followed by a subsequent tour to promote their upcoming single.

Upcoming Release “Gastown Man” on Summer 2021
“Gastown Man”, inspired by Saxon and Jon’s time spent in Vancouver. Initially, the subject of the song was sparked by a confrontation with a man on the street asking for cigarettes; he was walking a menacing looking pitbull with a spiked silver collar, and was drinking a beer at 9:30 or so in the morning. It was raining and he wore a silver Addidas tracksuit and wore the hood over his head. The interaction later became the idea for a more embellished and dramatised depiction of that character- the “Gastown Man”; one who struts along the sidewalk with a noticeable gait of swagger and confidence, wearing a cheap fur coat and smoking an even cheaper cigar hanging from dime-silver grilled teeth and a walking cane; he’s the Gastown Man.
Gastown Man will be the Second of several singles released by Red Revel in 2021 followed by an upcoming debut EP.
